Alice Wong, the founder of Passion Vocal Studio, teaches voice to both singers and speakers in-person and online.  She specialises in English and Mandarin contemporary pop singing, as well as Christian contemporary genre.  She also train singers in other genres such as musical theatre, pop-rock, K-Pop, J-Pop and choral singing in choirs.

In her early years, Alice had been involved in different set ups for performances, such as Mando-pop singing group, resident singers in music cafe, events emceeing, local musicals, as well as church choir and worship leading.  With the overload of voice usage in her previous training work commitment, Alice had experienced severe throat inflammation in 2007 and lost her voice.  She hence realised having a good voice technique is crucial for singers and speakers like her.  And that’s when she encountered the Speech Level Singing (SLS) technique.

Being trained in the SLS technique, Alice was certified as a SLS Instructor in 2009.  She was also the appointed Educational Advisor Group (EAG) member and Regional Representative (RR) for SLS South-East Asia in 2011 and 2012, guiding new teachers and organising vocal educational events in the region.

To stay efficient as a voice coach, Alice understands the importance of continuous learning and staying informed on the latest vocal science research. She moved on to receive 6 years of vocal instructor training at the Institute of Vocal Advancement (IVA), graduating as a Mentor Level Vocal Instructor in 2019.  Since then, she has been helping junior teachers to horn their teaching skills.

Recent years, she has also joined the Modern Vocal Training (MVT) community, upgrading her knowledge and skills to another level using a more holistic approach. The level 3 course in MVT has also allowed her to go into more specialised vocal pedagogy research, focusing on literature review in adolescence voice change; thus now, certified as the Advanced Modern Vocal Training Coach (2026).

Alice’s students ranged from professional gig singers, voice instructors, choir singers, church worship leaders and other vocal teachers.  With more than 17 years of coaching, Alice has helped many singers achieved their vocal competencies by strengthening their MIX voice in singing, and enhancing their performance skills for more artistic expressions.

Recent years, she has also ventured into teaching non-singing speakers like lecturers and sales / marketing personnels, in their day-to-day speech requirements at work. Aiming to help ease out unnecessary tension or strains, promoting a more healthy way to speak.
